The most prestigious smartphone of Google, the Pixel 2 XL has some problem in its screen.
Many Pixel 2 XL users have noticed that this phone has horrible effect of screen burn-in.
Do you know what Screen burn-in effect is?
Screen burn-in, or ghost image, colloquially known as screen burn, is a permanent discoloration of areas on an electronic display such as a CRT display or an old computer monitor or TV set caused by cumulative non-uniform usage of the pixels.

The problem appears to affect only larger 6-inch Pixel 2 XL and not in the smaller 5-inch Pixel 2. Though the Pixel 2 is manufactured by HTC and the Pixel 2 XL by LG, both phones use P-OLED displays sourced from LG Display.
It’s not clear why the smaller one doesn’t have the blue color-shifting. LG’s owned phones with OLED screens have suffered from burn-in for years. The LG G Flex, the company’s first phone with a flexible OLED display, was notorious for this defect.

Can we do something?
- Maintain your display brightness as low as you can keep. Increased brightness requires more current and therefore shortens LED lifetimes.
- Shortest screen-off timer. Turning the screen off when you’re not using it will prevent static images from being displayed.
- Use a wallpaper with darker colors and change it every now and again.
- Use keyboards that offer darker themes so that you may prevent color degradation in the lower half of the display.
